Frequently Asked Questions

A sterile probe the size of the hair is inserted into each hair follicle opening down to the Dermal Papilla (the part of the follicle that provides the elements essential for hair growth). When the probe is in place, a low-level electrical current is applied that will destroy the papilla and surrounding cells and loosen the hair in the follicle. The hair is then removed. When the papilla and there generative cells around it are destroyed, no future hair growth will occur.

Treatment will vary with each person’s individual needs. Appointments are scheduled in increments of fifteen, thirty, forty-five or sixty minutes.

Yes. Electrolysis is recognized by the American Medical Association as the only safe, effective method of Permanent hair removal. Permanency is obtained most effectively with a commitment to their commended treatment schedule.

Since no two cases are identical, each case will respond differently to treatment. Factors that influence treatment are density of hair, coarseness, cause of excess hair and commitment to treatment.

Someone who has previously waxed, tweezed or used other temporary methods may have compounded the problem and will require more treatment than one who has never used temporary hair removal methods.

There is a sensation which will vary with each individual and the area of the body being treated. If a client experiences discomfort, adjustments can be made to create a more comfortable treatment. Most people agree that Electrolysis is more tolerable than tweezing or waxing.

In most cases there are no after-effects, since skin is not punctured or harmed in anyway. Some redness will appear immediately following treatment but should dissipate within a short period of time.
